Forgot Computer Administrator Password

On my computer, I have an administrator account and the guest account. Well my dad took my computer away from me for a while and he changed the password to the administrator account. The problem is, he can’t remember what he changed the password to. I only have access to the guest account now, so I can’t install or uninstall any unwanted programs, the quality is horrible and I don’t have any of my music!

I’ve searched around for password resetting programs, but that doesn’t help since I can’t even install anything on the guest account. Is there any way I can retrieve or reset my password? Thank you so much.

How to Bypass Windows Administrator Password

I have forgotten the administrator password of my Windows 7 installation and locked out. Is there a way to reset or bypass the password? I do have physical access to the PC.

Few things are more annoying than forgetting your Windows administrator password. Without your Windows password your PC is nothing more than a door stop. In this tutorial I’ll show you how to bypass Windows administrator password which will allow you to login to Windows once again. All you need to bypass Windows password with this method is another Windows PC so you can download the Reset Windows Password utility and make a password reset Live CD/USB drive.

How to Bypass Windows Administrator Password?

To get started, purchase the Reset Windows Password utility and download it onto your current computer. Unzip the download file and you’ll get the ResetWindowsPwd.iso file which contains the password hacking tool.
Next, you need to turn that ISO file into a CD. All you need to do is get a CD/DVD burning program such as BurnCDCC or ImgBurn, which allows you to burn an ISO image to CD or DVD easily! If your computer doesn’t come with a CD/DVD burner, you can use the ISO2Disc program to burn a Windows password reset USB from that ISO image.
Take the Live CD you just created to the computer you want to hack. Insert the CD into the CD drive and turn on the computer. Normally, the BIOS screen tells you the keyboard key you need to press to change the boot order, watch for that message! On most computers the BIOS key is Del, F9 or F12 but yours might be different, so watch out for that on the boot-up menu.
Once you boot from the CD, it will load the miniature operating system and open the Reset Windows Password utility. This program automatically detect all Windows installations on your computer, and shows a list of user accounts existing in your Windows SAM registry hive.
Choose the administrator account you want to bypass the password on and click on “Reset Password” button. It will remove your forgotten administrator password immediately. Remove the CD from the CD drive and restart the computer, you can then log into the administrator with an empty password. Done!

This tutorial is fairly simple to follow even if you are not very techie person. With this trick you can bypass Windows administrator password on any version of Windows operating system, including Windows 8/7/Vista/XP.

Reset Windows Password utility is not designed to recover/find your original Windows login password, because Windows login password is encrypted using some very strong encryption algorithms and the time in order to crack a password is usually unacceptable. But this program can overwrite/blank your lost or forgotten Windows login password in just a matter of seconds!

Hide User Account from Welcome Screen in Windows 8/7/Vista/XP

How to Hide User Account from Welcome Screen in Windows 8/7/Vista/XP?

Press Windows + R key combination to open the Run window, type regedit and press Enter key.
In the Register Editor window, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\Userlist
If the SpecialAccounts key and Userlist keys do not exist then create them.
On the right hand side of Userlist, right-click on any blank space, and point to New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Name the new DWORD registry value name exactly with the user name used at the logon screen.
Double-click on DWORD registry value, and set the value data to 0 in order to hide the account from Welcome Screen. To display the user account on Welcome Screen again so that it’s visible again, delete the registry entry, or set the value data to 1.
Exit Registry Editor. Log off or restart computer to make the change effective.

This trick will prevent the user account from showing up on the Welcome Screen or in the Control Panel -> User Accounts area. In Windows XP you can still log into the hidden user account by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del two times to display Login Dialog window and type the username and password. But note that, in Windows 8/7/Vista, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del does not bring up the login screen. If your user account is not shown up on the Welcome Screen and you’re locked out of your computer, Reset Windows Password utility could be used to remove your forgotten password or make your user account visible again.

The built-in administrator account is one of the default accounts that has the highest privileges in Windows. It is by far the number one target for hackers trying to break into your computer. By default, this administrator account does not show up in the list of available accounts when Windows boots up. This is why so many people do not know that the account even exists. You would be surprised that there is also no password set for the administrator account. This can be a major security risk for all Windows users. Rename the Built-in Administrator Account

Double-click the built-in Administrator account.
Select the Account Is Disabled check box, and click OK.
Close the Computer Management console. The change will take effect after you log off the computer.

Don’t Use the Built-in Administrator Account

I find that many computer users use this account for routine maintenance, tasks, and administration. I also find that this account is configured as the service account for many network services. This account should never be used, unless there is a disaster that requires that this account be used to access your computer.

Reset Lost Windows User Account Password in Safe Mode

In Windows 8/7/Vista/XP, there is a default built-in administrator account which is automatically created at the time of Windows installation. For security reasons the built-in administrator account is hidden and inactive by default. But there is no password protected with it and you can access this administrator account from Safe Mode. After log into Safe Mode with the built-in administrator account, you can reset lost password for any other user account easily. Here are step-by-step instructions:

How to Reset Lost Windows User Account Password in Safe Mode?

Power on your computer and repeatedly press F8. It will show you black screen with few options, select “Safe Mode with Command Prompt” option with arrow keys and hit Enter. Now computer will start Windows in Safe Mode and at the end command prompt will visible.

Now with the help of this command prompt you can reset lost Windows user account password easily. Type “net user” command and hit Enter it will show list of all users.

Now type net user owner 123 to reset the password of the user owner to 123 (in place of owner you need type the name of user for which you want to change password) and press Enter. A message “the command completed successfully” will appear that means your password has been successfully reset.

Now restart your computer and login with username: owner and password: 123. you can access your computer and continue to reset other account password through Control Panel.

This is the easiest way to reset lost windows user account password. But it only works when you are able to start computer in Safe Mode. If safe mode could not be loaded or there is a password set on the built-in administrator account, then you need to use some third party software to reset lost Windows user account password, such as Reset Windows Password utility.

How to Log into Windows without Knowing the Password

Can’t remember Windows user password? How to log into the computer without knowing the password? If you have been running Windows on your computer, chances are high that you haven’t assigned a password for the build-in administrator account. By default installation, Windows 8/7/Vista/XP has a built-in administrator account. Most computer owners don’t even know such an Administrator account is actually existed, don’t even mentioned they will create or set a password for Administrator user account.

The problem is that in normal Windows Welcome Screen where you choose which user account you want to log onto, the Administrator account is not displayed and is not shown.
