How to Restore Windows Password with Ease

Forgot Windows password and can’t log in to your computer? You can restore Windows to a recent restore point during which you were able to successfully log on to the system.  The System Restore feature will make sure that you don’t lose any documents. The best and easiest way is to restore your forgotten Windows password. To begin, you need to create a Windows password reset CD on another accessible computer, then boot your locked computer from the CD so you can restore Windows password easily.

How to Restore Windows Password with Ease:

  1. Download the Reset Windows Password utility from this link: http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html. Unzip the download file. After you unzip it, there is an ISO image file: ResetWindowsPwd.iso, which is what you need to burn.
  2. Burn the ISO image file to a blank CD or USB drive using the ISO2Disc utility. Here we’re going to use CD to create a password reset disk.
  3. Now we need to set your locked computer to boot from CD. Turn on the computer. Normally, the BIOS screen tells you the keyboard key you need to press to enter into BIOS Setup Utility.   4. After entering into BIOS, set CD/DVD as the 1st boot device so you can boot off the CD; or set Removable Device as the 1st boot device if you want to boot from USB drive.
  5. Once your computer boots from the CD, it will load the Windows PE operating system on your CD.
  6. After one or two minutes, it will launch the Reset Windows Password program.
  7. Select the Windows SAM registry file for your desired Windows installation if there is more than one. The program will list all your Windows user accounts.
  8. Choose a user account and then click Reset Password button. It will restore your forgotten Windows password and you can then log in to your system with a blank password.

After password restoring, you can regain access to all your data and files on your computer. No need to reinstall the operating system or any program installed on your computer.  With this guide you can restore Windows password on Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP and Windows Server 2008, 2003 and 2000.

I’ve started to use my old laptop as our main one is currently broken down, sadly I have forgotten my administrator password on my laptop and can’t access the files originally saved in that computer. Another mistake is that I do not have a password reset disk, or what ever it is called. So I have no idea on how to remove Windows password.

How to Recover Windows Product Key

I’ve got a virus on my machine and have to reinstall windows 7. I bought a copy from software for students so it was downloaded. I can’t really remember but I assume I must have also downloaded the product key. I usually keep all my product keys backed up but I can’t find it anywhere. My Question is, is there any way to recover Windows product key from my laptop?

How to Bypass System Administrator Password on Windows 8/7/Vista/XP

I have a laptop with Windows XP SP2. I had no adminstrator password. I just enter when asked for password. Somebody set a password without my knowledge. I cannot access my laptop. Please help.

There are times when bypassing a Windows password is necessary. Maybe a PC was inherited and the password is unknown, perhaps the administrator password has simply been forgotten, or somebody changed the password of your system without your knowledge. In such situations either you have to reinstall Windows again or find a solution to reset the password so that you can access your computer.

In this article I’ll cover an easy way to help you bypass system administrator password on Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP.  Reset Windows Password is the simple utility we’ll used to bypass Windows password.  How? Just follow the 3-step guide below.

Step 1: Make a System Password Reset CD

Download the zip archive of Reset Windows Password and save it onto your computer. Unzip the download file, then burn the ISO image file (ResetWindowsPwd.iso) to a blank CD using ISO2Disc utility.  If you don’t have a CD-ROM on your locked computer, you can burn the ISO image to a USB stick.

Step 2: Set Your PC to Boot from CD

To make your locked computer boot off the system password reset CD,  head over to the computer’s BIOS and set CD/DVD as the 1st boot device.  If you’ve burned a system password reset USB, you need to set Removable Device as the 1st boot device instead.

Step 3: Bypass System Administrator Password

  1. Put your system password reset CD in the CD drive and restart your locked computer.  You’ll notice the boot screen is not the same as usual because it is loading from your system password reset CD now.
  2. It takes a while to load some necessary files and launch the Reset Windows Password utility.  On the main screen of Reset Windows Password utility, you can see the Windows SAM database file and a list of Windows accounts on your system.
  3. Choose a user account whose password you’re going to bypass, then click Reset Password button to remove the unknown/forgotten password.
  4. Remove the system password reset CD and restart the computer.

You’ll find that the system doesn’t ask for a password anymore. You can get into Windows system as normal and use the computer as before. With the system password reset CD, you can bypass the administrator password on nearly all Windows systems.
