Can't Log in to Your Windows PC? Create a New Admin Account
Can't access any of Windows accounts because you have forgotten your password? No user accounts showing on login screen? Corrupt user profile prevents you from using your PC? To solve all these login issues, you can create a new administrator account with PCUnlocker bootable drive that will let you regain access to your Windows PC.
How to Create New Windows Admin Account with PCUnlocker
First of all, you need to download the PCUnlocker ISO image and burn it onto a CD using another computer. If you have a USB thumb drive, use the ISO2Disc utility to install the ISO image onto your USB drive and make it bootable.
- Insert the CD (or USB) into your locked computer and you have to boot it. When the machine starts up, press a specified key (F12, F2, F10, ESC, DEL, etc.) to bring up the boot menu with a list of bootable devices. Highlight the CD (or USB) and press Enter.
It may take a minute to get this screen. Select an existing account in the list, and then click the Options button at the bottom of the window and choose "Create Local Account"
Enter a user name and password for the new local account you want to create, and click OK.
You will then see a message that says "The new account was created successfully". Click OK and then click Restart. Remove the CD when the machine starts to reboot.
- When you come to the Windows welcome screen, you'll see the new admin account. The first time to log into the new account it will take a minute to set up the user profile.
It's never too late when you find yourself locked out of Windows and don't have a second administrator account on your PC. Just boot with PCUnlocker and you can create a new admin account to fix the login issues or recover access to your Windows PC.
