Windows 10 Password Reset on HP Pavilion Laptop

Almost all new HP Pavilion laptops no long use the old and slow BIOS, they use the latest UEFI firmware. To reset a forgotten Windows password on UEFI-based computer, you have to use a password cracking software with UEFI support. In this tutorial we'll explain how to use the PCUnlocker software to reset Windows 10 user password on HP Pavilion laptop.

1Create A PCUnlocker Live CD

1. Before resetting HP Pavilion laptop password, you need to use another computer to make a PCUnlocker boot CD. After you've downloaded the full version of PCUnlocker Enterprise (trial version), unzip it and you'll get a disc image file called pcunlocker.iso.

   

2. Next download and install the freeware ISO2Disc. Run the ISO2Disc program, click on Browse button to select the PCUnlocker ISO file.

   

3. Select Burn to CD/DVD and click on Start Burn. The CD will be ready in one or two minutes.

2Reset HP Pavilion Laptop Password

Once your PCUnlocker Live CD is ready, you can now bring it to reset forgotten Windows 10 password for your HP Pavilion laptop. Follow these steps:

1. Put the PCUnlocker Live CD in the CD/DVD drive. Turn off your laptop if it's running.

2. Immediately press the Esc key repeatedly, about once every second, until the Startup Menu opens.

   

3. Press F9 to open the "Boot Device Options" menu. Use the up or down arrow key to select the CD/DVD drive. Once pressing Enter, the computer will boot from the CD.

4. After one or two minutes, the PCUnlocker program will launch and it displays all of your Windows 10 user accounts. If you've set up a Microsoft account as your laptop's login, you can see that your email address shows up next to a linked local account.

   

5. Choose a local account and then click on Reset Password button, it will reset your forgotten local account password immediately. If you've selected a local account tied to your Microsoft account, the program will automatically convert your Microsoft account to local user.
